COLE HAM
10 months old (42 weeks) on November 16, 2005

Our little guy is getting BIG! I think I can leave this statement here for each entry.
We need to weigh and measure him. All I can say is he is definitely bigger. You should
see the muscles on my arms!

It has been a stressful couple of months for all of us. We moved in to the new
house on Thanksgiving weekend after a week of tearing down wallpaper, painting,
ripping up carpet and packing and moving. I am glad we are here, but still overwhelmed
at all there is left to do. We are doing things slowly now, while trying to enjoy the house
and the holidays.

Cole has 4 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth and such a cute smile. His face is really starting to
mature No longer my little baby, but a little toddler. I can hardly believe he will be a year
old soon. I think back on all the hard times and adjustments of this past year and know
that it was all worth it. I look forward to the years ahead.

Cole is very curious and is still pointing, but it is more deliberate. He wants to know what
everything is and he points to go places. We play pick a boo around the furniture. We chase
him around the couch and he turns around and chases us back. It is so much fun. He giggles.
He gives us raspberries on the belly. He plays games and laughs. He is a very happy boy.
He is very fascinated with birds and is excited when he sees one flying above. He points
and his little feet shake all over.

If you haven't guess yet, Cole is crawling on hands and knees now. It started on Thanksgiving
day. I was laying on the floor trying to rest a little, I looked over and he was just crawling
by me. Just like that. Within a week, he was always on his hands and knees. Now, 2 weeks
later he is a speed demon. Each time I open up the refrigerator, he speeds over so fast trying
to get in there. It has got me moving too. Along with the crawling, came the pulling up on everything.
He can now pull himself up to stand without any help. He doesn't walk yet, but he as started moving
around the furniture. I can't believe how fast this is all going. Soon enough he will be walking and I will
forget what it was like to have a little tiny baby in my arms. I can't imagine him that small anymore.

Eating with Cole has been an adventure too. He now wants to eat what we are eating. He went from eating
bananas, avocado, oatmeal, and cereal to eating lots of rice and beans, stew, baked potatoes, and yogurt.
For a few weeks, he refused to be spoon fed anything. He wanted his own plate and spoon and would
try to scoop his food up into his mouth. Soon enough he would be licking the food off his plate
and most of it ended up on his lap and the floor. He is in need of a bath after most meals.
But it is fun to watch him challenge himself.

I knew it would happen, his first bump. In fact, I didn't even notice it at first, but he
got a bump and a little scratch, with blood!!, on his forehead. He hit his head on the way
down while standing up against a fence. He has had a bump three times in that exact
same spot since then. I am learning to deal. I am finally letting go of him and letting stand
and move on his own. He face plants it everyday while crawling and bounces back
pretty quickly. this head butt things will take a little longer to get use to. though I fell
he is more cautious when standing than other kids I've seen. I don't think that will last.
Good think about kids is they heal fast!

Unfortunately our camera is not working properly right now, so his next month photos will
be a little scarce. Maybe I'll try to my luck on downloading and uploading some video instead.
Let's see if I have the time.
Happy Holidays. We wish we could be with all our family and friends for the holidays.
All are welcome to our new home for the holidays.
