| Now
that Cole is crawling like crazy, all his energies are on pulling
himself up onto everything. He can pull himself up and stand for
a few seconds and then slowly get down on his knees.
Sometimes he will grab onto John's hands and walk around.
Cole's
appetite for food is back. He is eating three meals a day
He lets me know he is hungry by opening his mouth up wide
and trying to eat me. With his appetite, we need to start
preparing real meals or make sure we are having something
that he can eat. He still loves broccoli and tofu.
Cole
has also been talking a lot. Not a lot of words yet, but
lots of sounds. He said "tickle, tickle" while he tickled my
belly. He is saying "papa" for pepere. Along with speaking
he is still going strong with sign language. Today, while standing
at the front window, he saw the flowers in the front yard and
signed flower. He also has been signing Hungry and eat. It seems
it is all coming together.
The
park is fun. Now he climbs up the stairs and crawls all over it.
He has climbed all the way up and slid down the slide head first
all by himself. laughing all the way. He practices going down the
steps feet first. He stands up on the bouncing walkway and
holds the rail and bounces.
We had
one day when Cole was obsessed with the bathroom,
the toilet and going pee. He even peed and pooped in the toilet.
Once. He signs toilet. He pats his diaper when he pees and poops.
On March
14, two days before 14 months old, Cole started walking.
He walked across the living room, socks on his hands (this is
John's thing). I think he thought he was holding on to something.
The same evening he walked from the living room into the kitchen.
He is wobbly, but moves fast. The next morning he was walking
all over!
One
afternoon while I was trying to take a nap with cole, he crawled
over me and off the bed. I told him I was tired and I was going to stay
in bed. He came over and gave me a kiss on my forehead.
One day Cole came up to me in the bathroom and pointed to the
cabinet where we keep the trash. I told him the trash was in there
and it was dirty. I did not want to open it for him. He smiled and opened
up his hand. He showed me a piece of lint he picked up and wanted to
throw in the trash. I opened up the cabinet and he placed the lint in
the
barrel. He is also doing with with his dirty diapers. He wants to carry
them into the bathroom and put them into the diaper pail himself.

February 24, 2006 Cole playing in the mud at the playground.
He was completely wet and muddy from head to toe.
Luckily, I carry around an extra outfit for such occasions.
