| Now
that Cole is basically running, he is hard to keep up with. and more falls.
He had his first scraped knees, both of them, from falling down on the
sidewalk.
It took so long to heal because he kept falling down and hitting his knees
again.
I had to have him in long pants as much as possible.
Cole
is loving the backyard with the sandbox and sprinkler. He goes back and
forth
and does not mind sand on him. It gets everywhere. and then it ends up
in the house,
on the bed, in the tub. The first time we used the sprinkler, Cole squatted
down in
front of it and just let the water hit him. He was shivering and screaming
with delight.
He seems to manage getting his clothes wet pretty much everyday - either
from
the sink, his cup, the hose, the sprinkler, my water cup, the sprinklers
in the
neighbor's yard. If there is water, and dirt for that matter, he will
find it.
A few
weeks ago we adopted two rabbits, Marco and Kate. They are both beautiful.
One himilayan, white with brown ears ,nose, feet and tail and the other
is all chocolate.
It has been an adjustment for all of us. We are still working out the
best setup in our
house for them. Right now they have taken over the spare room. We would
love to
eventually have them our in the house all day and just in a cage at night.
Hopefully
we will get there. Cole loves them. He can already say Marco. We spend
time with
them every morning. Cole runs around playing with their toys, eating their
lettuce snacks,
playing in their water, food and hay. And sometimes he will sit down and
pet them gently.
Marco is OK with this, but Kate still runs the other way when she sees
him coming.
Cole is excited and talking the whole time as he maneuvers his way around
the room
into their cage. I'll get a picture of them up here next month.
Our
latest adventures are to construction sites. We live close to a big Medical
center
where they are always building something new. Right now they are building
at least
three new buildings. We walk around and watch the trucks driving by on
the road
and stop to watch the trucks working. I am learning all the names for
the trucks.
He has been signing truck for a while now. We also found some used tonka
trucks
that are big and metal that he can work with his hands. He loves them.
The first
few days after we got them he would go to bed signing truck and wake up
signing
truck. Not a day goes by that he does not play with them.
Cole
is so excited for garbage day. We go outside and watch the truck go up
and down
the street. He says garbage truck, but it sounds like "ummm".
but now I know what he
is talking about. He says it each time we see one when we are driving.
He gets so excited
driving in the car and watching for all trucks! he hardly sleeps in the
car now. He always
says something and signs truck. Now that he can say backhoe, I hear that
all the time.
He also can not leave the house and get in the car without his truck book.
When he is
not seeing them out the window, he is looking at them in his book.
Cole
can say - mama, dada, bubble, baby, backhoe, marco, emma gene, hot, yaa,
no, OK

May 18, 2006 Cole jumping on Dada.

May 22, 2006 Cole playing in the front of the house, signing "tree".

May 23, 2006 Cole and Emma Gene playing chase in the backyard.

May 30, 2006 I don't know where he learned this.

May 31, 2006 Cole is playing in the backyard, signing "cold".
He is
shivering like crazy, but just sits in the water.

June 2, 2006 Cole's first scraped knees. Both of them in one fall on
the sidewalk.
It took so long to heal since he kept falling on them again. He had to
wear pants
most of the time.

June 10, 2006 Cole has never done this before. He had 3 servings of yogurt
in him. I turn my back for a minute and I hear him laughing. I turn back
and
he is covered in yogurt. He was using it like lotion.
