| Cole
is talking lots now. He can tell me things that happened by talking or
signing,
just like a conversation. He repeats words over and over. He can say one
or two
words of what he wants to say and I can fill in the gaps. He lets me know
when I get
it
right.
Cole's
new words-
happy, up and down, dump truck, bounce, bump, belly button, bump,
choo choo, dirt, dig, on, off, big, high
We started digging up some ivy that was growing back in
the backyard.
Cole loves to climb in the trench and push the dirt around. Every morning
as soon as he goes into th e kitchen and sees the backyard, he asks to
go
outside to dig. and once we are out there, I work for an hour or so and
need
a break, but Cole wants to keep working. It is hard to get him inside
to eat
or take his nap. Usually he is out there in his PJs and bare feet.
We spent two weeks in Massachusetts visiting my family.
It was hot. I did
not remember the heat and humidity being so bad. So glad my Dad has a
pool. Cole loved the water. swimming around and jumping in. We spent some
time at the folk festival in Lowell. Cole was less interested in he music
and more
into the trucks -fire trucks, police, ambulances, garbage trucks. Everyone
was
so nice. the guys running the garbage truck got out and showed cole how
it
worked and ran the back of it for him.
Cole started jumping and two weeks later he is jumping off
the ground. We can
thank Dan and Mel for this. While we were hanging out in Santa Cruz, they
got
Cole hooked on jumping. Cole practiced everyday diligently. Flying on
the plane
he held onto the armrest in the aisle and jumped and jumped. Impressing
everyone
on the plane. In MA he had everyone jumping with him. He would point at
his cousin or
his uncle and start jumping and then look at them and point. Waiting I
couldn't believe
how everyone was jumping. He even got our 60 year old neighbor jumping
up and down.
While in MA we stayed at Seabrook beach for the week with
my Dad and my brothers
came up to visit. It was so nice to be right there at the beach. A half
a block from the sand.
We enjoyed waking up and going for walks along the water. watching the
tractor comb the
beach and the backhoe lift up the debris into the dump truck. We picked
up lots of shells and
rocks. We built sand castles that Cole loved to destroy and even buried
John in the sand.
Cole ran in and out of the water. He has no fear. We held him and lifted
him over the waves,
but he enjoyed them crashing over him. I am disappointed that I did not
get a photo of his
footsteps in the sand. they were so cute. And I know the next time we
spend time at the beach
they will be bigger.
Cole moments...
Cole loves looking at photos of himself and Momma and Dadda. He sees photos
of
when he was first born and I tell him he was a little itty bitty baby
then and now he is
big. I love to ask him if he is my baby. He says yup and smiles. He says
Momma,
Dadda and then signs "baby". and I give him lots of kisses.
We play bulldozer. This is a game that I loved playing when I was small.
One person
lays down and the other makes bulldozer noises and rolls over them many
many times.
Back and forth. I'm glad Cole likes playing this game too.
Cole plays for a long time with his trucks moving them around
his feet while he squats
down. He makes all these different noises for the trucks as they move.
He comes to us and
hands us a truck and says "down" so we can play trucks with
him.
