COLE HAM
21 months old on October 16, 2006

Cole is talking all the time and saying just about everything, though I may
be the only one who can understand him. He is really growing up fast now.
He tells me he is not a baby, he is a big boy. He still signs some words
and learns new signs too.

He has the cutest rubber boots I found for him. they are lady bugs, with
googly eyes that stick up and antennae that stick up too. I'll have to get a
photo of them. He has been wearing them everywhere. He can put them
on himself and take them off himself.

Not only can Cole jump, which he does all the time, he skips. He is in
constant motion. He jumps all around the house, by himself or up on the
bed, or holding our hands. We dance and skip around the living room.

John put Cole to bed twice this month! A miracle that hasn't happened since.
(cole ended up with a fever one night and then was nursing constantly
after that). That night, I told Cole I was going out and Dada was going to go
to sleep with him. He said, bye bye, gave me a big hug and a kiss on the mouth,
on the forehead and on the nose :) life is great.

Cole may have had the chicken pox since three of his friends have come down with it.
That may be why he had a fever. We don't know for sure. He was exposed three times
by kids who came down with them. After the fever he seemed to be showing signs of
teething again. I guess, he still has some molars that need to come down?

One night after a long night of hourly nursing and waking up, Cole woke up ready
to go, saying Mama up, Mama up. I told him I was very tired and needed to wake
up slow. Once I got out of bed, I turned around and he was gone, back in a minute
he had my slippers in his hand and put them on the floor in front of me. Isn't he the
sweetest thing. I said thanks and gave him a big hug, and he patted my back.

For Halloween, we talked to Cole about what he might want to dress up as.
He kept changing his mind between a bunch of animas, cow, cat, dog. But
he finally decided on Dada cow since then he could have horns. John made
a great costume complete with horns. Cole barely wore it, of course. On
Halloween we went to a friends house for dinner and hung out. He put the
costume on 5 minutes before we left (that is the one photo below) and we
also went to another party where he reluctantly wore it for a short time.
the horns were a little big and fell off his head. But he looked so cute.

One afternoon we came home for lunch and a nap. We went to the fridge
and he picked out something to eat and then picked a fork from the drawer.
He ran into the living room and sat on his little couch smiling and saying"eat".
I told him we were going to eat at the table, we can't eat in the living room.
He came to the table an d signed "silly" meaning he was being silly. He was
silly the rest of the afternoon.
