was 21 weeks and 5 months old on June 16, 2005
Our little guy is
getting BIG! I think I can leave this statement here for each entry.
And he is nursing lots, as usual. During the day it is almost every hour
and at night,
he is giving me about 2-3 hours in between nursings.
He is still having rough teething days, but is much better at dealing
with it. He doesn't
cry as much. He is much more playful and curious. He plays much more on
the floor
on his own or with me beside him. He is still very clingy and cries if
I leave his sight.
He spends lots of time in the sling with me. I love holding him so close
and he enjoys
it too. I can't imagine life without it. He is lifting his head off the
floor and holding it
up for minutes at a time. I swear he thinks he will just be able to get
up. He has had
no interest in rolling over anymore.
I am amazed at how he still spends time looking at his hands. He finds
new ways to move
them and he studies them a lot. He is much more coordinated with them
now and can
reach, grab and get things in his mouth.
He has been baby signing to us. If you have no idea what this is, it is
basically teaching
your baby american sign language to communicate with you. It is working
for us. Cole
can sign - milk, mom, diaper.
Cole still loves to look at trees. Each time I leave the house or am out,
he looks around
and always notices the trees and smiles. When I go out for walks and he
is laying in the
stroller, I purposefully go down the streets with the most trees. he seems
to like the
trees near our house that have red leaves.
One of my favorite things is to give and get kisses with cole. When I
hold him so that his
face is level with mine I kiss his face and neck and he grabs my face
and smothers me with
his open mouth. I just love it.
I can't forget to mention that we started giving Cole food - rice cereal,
avacado and organic
fruits. He likes it all, though the first time we gave him avacado he
ate it and then made a
funny face, then asked for more. He doesn't eat much. I offer him food
when he is at the
table with us. He often naps when we are eating. It has been fun giving
him fruits. He will
gnaw on apples, peaches, nectarines and strawberries. he doesn't have
teeth yet, but we
have to be careful he doesn't get more than just the juices in his mouth.
We took Cole on his second camping trip; his first to lake Tahoe; on July
4th weekend.
We invited a couple of other friends who have babies to join our group
of 11 people. We
had 15 adults and 3 kids total at 2campsites. We all had a great time.
Cole did so much better
this time. He slept better in the tent. and I got one night by the campfire.
