Cole was 26 weeks and 6 months old on July 16, 2005

Our little guy is getting BIG! I think I can leave this statement here for each entry.
As of August 15, 2005 Cole is 21.5lbs and 29" long. He just keeps growing!

I guess the biggest news this past month is how much Cole loves to swim.
He seems to be a natural in the water and the first time we took him in a pool
he started kicking. I have been working with him about once a week at the pool.
He doesn't swim by himself, but kicks and has started to move his arms. He
has even dunked his face into the water. I am taking him for swimming lessons.

Cole has been teething, as usual. He has had some good weeks and three very
long bad weeks where he was waking a lot at night and very clingy during
the day. As of today, 8/20/05, you can see the tooth there in the gums. It is
still working its way up to the surface. We hope it will come soon, but teeth
have been known to go back down and resurface months later. We shall see.

Cole is rolling onto his tummy all the time. Almost immediately when we put
him down he rolls right over. He spends a lot of time on his stomach and
eventually starts to cry to be picked up. I know he is very fustrated that he
can't move. He is working on it. He got his stomach and butt off the floor.
He just needs to figure out the moving part. It is great to see him explore
the world from his tummy. All new things to see and reach for.

Cole has figured out how to give rasberries on your arm, face, knee -
anywhere he can get his mouth on. It has been a lot of fun. He can make a
really loud noise now and giggles. He also gives kisses. He started giving me
kisses a few months ago when I would pick him up and he was at my face level.
Now he gives John kisses and has started to give kisses to friends and even
his friends, Jonas who is just 2 weeks older than him. Cole has a very sweet
temperment and calm disposition. He is very gentle with his touch. He wins the
hearts of everyone with his smile. He gets concerned when he hears another baby
crying and may even get upset himself. He is always interested in the conversation of
people in the room. I was at a meeting yesterday and I had a chance to talk. A women
came up to me afterwards and told me that while I was taling Cole was mimmicking my
talking and hand gestures. I did not even noticed.

Cole has started experiementing with faces. He has some great ones now. He is starting to
give faces that remind us of both John and I. It is funny to see him give a look and think ...
that is John! It starts so early.

Each day, week, month brings about new and exciting things. I am enjoying
all the changes and discoveries.

We are going to massachusetts to visit my family August 24 - Sept 7th. I am really
excited to see everyone and have them meet Cole. It will be an interesting experience
taking the plane and just living at a different location other than home. I'll let you
know how it goes.

July 16, 2005 Cole is swimming at my midwifes' home. He's a natural.

July 26, 2005 Cole went on his first hike with me at the South Yuba River.
He loves being in the backpack and checking out nature.

August 5, 2005 I know you have all been waiting for this one. Cole loves to eat with us.
He has been eating rice cereal, avocado, bananas, sweet potatoes, peaches, nectarines,
plums and strawberries.

August 13, 2005

August 13, 2005 He is not standing on his own, yet. He is enjoying laying on his
back and just starting to get mobile on the floor.
